Come along to our meetups to improve your art in a relaxed and social atmosphere and under the guidance of a professional instructor. Complete beginners to experienced artists all welcome.

Our 2 hour meetups are held in a different location each time, usually outdoors.

Bring your own materials. If you are a complete beginner all you need to start is a set of watercolour paints, brushes, and water container.

Who can attend? Open to all skill levels, from beginners to experienced artists. The instructor is there to help everyone.

The meeting point and full details for the day are sent in the booking confirmation email to the email address you provide at time of booking.

Leah Thompson

Leah Thompson is a retired elementary art teacher and professional artist. She is best known for her impressionistic paintings of ballerina dancers. Leah also paints vivid genre paintings, landscapes, and florals as well as commissioned works. Though oil paint is her primary medium of choice, she enjoys working in watercolor, acrylic, pen and ink, and oil pastel.
For the past 5 years, Leah has enjoyed teaching painting to adults through local art centers and paint night events. Her students describe her as helpful, encouraging and enjoyable to be around. She specializes in beginner painters,

The California Trail Interpretive Center (west of Elko, NV) hosted a ?learn & paint? activity. The subject was owls. I began this piece during the hourlong class, then, finished later giving myself a little freedom to venture away from the exact lesson example. My Ault Park Pavilion painting was inspired by a perfect spring day when my husband and I wandered beneath the cherry blossoms at Ault Park. He paused to take photos of the blooms while I soaked in the beauty of the pavilion I?ve always loved?its arches, its history, its quiet elegance. That peaceful moment together, surrounded by soft pink petals and the architecture I adore, became the heart of this piece.
